Recycling
Green aluminum recycling barrels are located on the beach adjacent to each dune crossing. Aluminum, glass and plastic drop off sites are open 24 hours a day during the summer season, and the barrels are clearly marked for each product. Please rinse and sort items before disposing of them in the bins.
Drop off sites are located on the following:
- Worcester St & Philadelphia Ave
- 28th St Bayside
- 39th St Municipal Parking Lot
- 66th St
- 94th St Mall
- 130th St behind Fire Dept
- Bayside between 136th & 137th St
Drop off sites have barrels for aluminum cans, steel cans, newspapers, color sorted glass, plastic bottles and jugs. The recycling center at 65th St also accepts newspaper, cardboard, white office paper, computer paper, motor oil and used anti freeze. The center also buys aluminum cans from 8am-1pm, 6 days a week in the summer, Wednesday and Saturday in the winter.
